CAREER IN NRA/UPDF (1981 - 2021)

  • 1980 Member and Campaigner of the UGANDA PATRIOTIC MOVEMENT(UPM)
  • Joined the struggle as an NRA external contact soon after the launching of the war on 6th February 1981.
  • April 1982 together with Masulita students joined NRA at Kangave Mondlane Unit.
  • August 1982 after basic military training, appointed Political leader at the Rank of JO 11 (Junior Officer Class 11) and attached to the NRA Headquarters/High Command under the Political and Diplomatic Committee chaired by the late Hon. E. Kategaya.
  • Drafted the first guidelines for formation of Resistance Committees & Councils in the NRA liberated zones.
  • Conducted Civilian Cadre Development Courses during the war.
  • 1984 - Appointed 1.0. (Intelligence Officer) for 9th Battalion (Singo Zone) and served as such until after the attack on Kabamba on 1st January 1985.
  • April 1985 appointed Intelligence Officer/Political Commissar for 11th Battalion during the exodus to Rwenzori to open up the Western Axis.
  • July 1985 promoted to JOI and appointed PC Western Brigade and incharge of fuel.
  • September 1985 appointed NRM Administrative Secretary and founded/established the NRM Secretariat during the NRM Interim Administration.
  • In accordance with Legal Notice No. 1, As Administrative Secretary, after the capture of State power, I become alternate Secretary to the NRC until the promulgation of the 1995 Constitution.
  • 6th February 1988 - Commissioned Captain in the Regular NRA under Service Number RO/105.
  • 1987 - 1992 Served as Commissioner on the Education Policy Review Commission under Prof. Senteza Kajubi.
  • Served as Co-ordinator of National RCs, Elections from 1986 until 1995 when the new constitution was promulgated.
  • September 1994 - Promoted to the Rank of Major.
  • 1995 - 2001 served as an Elected Member of Parliament for Isingiro North Constituency in Mbarara District.
  • 2002 to March 2006 - Appointed Special Assistant to the Movement Chairman and Chairman War Debts Verification Committee.
  • September 2006 to date appointed SPECIAL PRESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT FOR POLITICAL AFFAIRS (NRM CIVILIAN VETERANS).
  • February 2008, appointed Chairman Presidential Land Task Force until 2015.
  • April 2010 promoted to Rank of LIEUTENANT COLONEL.
  • In June 2013 appointed Political Commissar Operation Wealth Creation.
  • In 2016 become Director for Political Affairs/Operation Wealth Creation.
  • September 2017 Promoted to Colonel.
  • 30th July 2021 promoted to Brigadier General.
  • 5th August 2021 officially retired from UPDF but retained as:
  1. Special Presidential Assistant/Political Affairs
  2. Director Political Affairs/Operation Wealth Creation.
  3. Holder of the following National Medals: -
