General Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh was born on 14 January 1960 in Mbarara District, he is a retired Ugandan Military Officer who served in the Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF), the armed forces of Uganda; He was the Senior Presidential Advisor on defense and security affairs (1996–1998). Served as Commander of the army's Reserve Force (1990–2001), He was also appointed Minister of State for Microfinance (2006-2008).  Currently, He is a Member of the Presidential Awards Committee
