He is a trained Civil Engineer with an MSc in Construction Management (University of Bath, UK) and BEng in Building and Civil Engineering (Kyambogo University, UG)

He served at the Ministry of Works and Transport from 1989 to 2008 where he retired with the Rank of Senior Engineer. During this period, he served as the Station Engineer at Moyo station (1995 – 2000) and Arua Station (2000 – 2008)

From July 2008 to December 2015 worked on contract with the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) as a Station Engineer, Jinja (July 2008 –June 2011) and Luweero (July 2011 – December 2015).

From January 2016 to date, he is into Private Engineering practice. He is also into farming; growing Coffee, Cocoa, Hass Avocado, and agroforestry in the Districts of Luuka, Kamuli, and Iganga.
