During a mobilisation meeting in Lira District, Maj. Martha Asiimwe, the Head of the RDC Secretariat in the Office of the President, called for unity among all leaders to improve service delivery. She urged political, technical, and community leaders to stop working in isolation and instead focus on collective responsibility. Maj. Asiimwe praised the improving security situation in Lira and gave credit to local leaders for their role in maintaining peace. She reminded participants that although the Secretariat operates under the highest political office in the land, its mission is not political but rather focused on improving citizensโ livelihoods. Quoting from the Bible, Hosea 4:6, she said, โMy people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,โ emphasising that informing citizens is just as important as delivering services. She said that giving services without informing people is like pouring water into a container that no one drinks from. Maj. Asiimwe called upon all stakeholders to work as a team, communicate openly with the people, and avoid working in silos. โTough times donโt last, but tough teams do,โ she concluded.
