43rd AAPAM ROUNDTABLE CONFERENCE
The Republic of Uganda during the 42nd AAPAM Roundtable Conference (RTC) held in Zambia in 2023 won the bid to host the 43rd RTC from 26th -29th November, 2024. The hosting of AAPAM rotates among member countries.
The African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) is a Continental Body under the auspice of the African Union and recognized by the African Union Public Service Charter. AAPAM was founded in 1962 by the Permanent Secretaries in charge of Public Service from several African Countries and was later formalized in 1971.
Since then, the AAPAM has held several rotational Roundtable Conferences in African Countries. In one of the latest 41st Roundtable Conference and Annual Conference meeting held in Cape Town, South Africa in 2022, Dr. John Nakabago (working with Uganda Management Institute); was elected as the President of the Continental Body.
AAPAM as an International Professional Organization promotes innovation, excellence and professionalism in Public Administration and Management on the African Continent through Training, Research, Publications, Seminars, Consultancy, Conferences and Awards. As a premier training avenue, the AAPAM exposes participants to New Public Administration trends as well as understanding management tools such as the Total Quality Management and Balanced Scorecard among others.
The AAPAM Chapter in Uganda i.e Uganda Association of Public Administration and Management (UAPAM) is chaired by the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet Mrs. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye who is the President UAPAM and its Secretariat is hosted by the Uganda Management Institute (UMI).
The National Organizing Committee which is chaired by the Secretary, Office of the President in close consultation with the Uganda Management Institute as well as the Uganda Chapter of UAPAM is holding preparatory meetings to ensure that the Country hosts a success conference.
